❤︎   Never Miss A Post ...

She is Ana Lora

I introduce to you the exceptional Ana Lora (aka Sandra Scherer) taking pride of place as She is Art.’s very first featured photographer! Ana draws you in through a lens of mystique and beauty within the deep dark depths of sombre and moody. I am reminded of the urban legend, the romanticised murder of the Wild Rose Eliza Day, as I scroll through one gloriously haunted image after another.

First and Foremost

Tell us a little about your background. When were you born? Where did you grow up? Did art play a significant role in your childhood?

I grew up in a small village in Germany. My parents already had a few analog cameras back then, which I played with a bit. This made me realize that I really enjoy photography.

Did you delve straight into the world of art after high school or did you come to it later in your life? In either case, what exactly inspired you to pursue art as a career?

I did an internship with a photographer in my vocational baccalaureate diploma in graphic arts and design. Professionally, I first came in the direction of media design and created websites.

The Nitty-Gritty

Which tools and mediums do you use and or prefer? Do you have a set process for creating your work?

I'm working with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom a lot. When shooting analog, I don't need any tools ;-)

What is your art in relation to your heart? Tell us your why. What does it all mean to you?

Photography and art mean a lot to me personally. It gives me the absolute feeling of freedom. Especially on bad or thoughtful days I'm very creative and that helps me in my life.

What are your thoughts on where your art began, to what it has now become?

I am very happy that I started with analog photography, without social media, Photoshop etc.. I never thought I could get this far with my creativity, and also make people happy with it. I am still very excited about what the future will bring and hope that social media will not negatively influence art too much.

Five For Fun

If you could only wear one colour ever again, what what you be? Why?

Definitely black.

What is something which you possess that you would never sell or give away, ever? Why?

My little lucky charm in the form of a fluffy ladybug.

In a garden of all of the flowers, which one would you choose? Why?

Cherry blossom, they remind me of Japan.

If you were a paint brush, how would you describe yourself?

Colorful and experimental.

What is one talent you have outside of being an artist?

Before You Go...

Anything you would like to add? What is up next for you that we should look out for?

As soon as the pandemic eases, I would like to try to exhibit a few photos of me in cafes and the like. And I will shoot more cinematic stuff.

Where can we find you?

What is one pro-tip lesson you have learned from your past as an artist?

Always stay true to yourself and your style.

What is your one boss-tip for all women to be true to themselves and live their best lives?

Empathy, inspiration, strengthening each other.

She is Art.

Be Bold. Be Sexy. Be Fierce.
