“She has the divine power of wisdom, truth and an infinite understanding of her own being. She is the inhalation and exhalation, the breath and serenity of transcendence." - Stella by Tanya Marie Reeves
Name
Stella as a female name, originated as the Latin word for Star.
Symbols and Totems
The Star symbolises aspiration, inspiration, imagination, wonder, dreams, pursuits, magic, creative brilliance, and divine guidance. The symbolic definition of the star is quite difficult to narrow down being that the specific meanings are vast and wide relating to the shape, colour and number of points, as well as alternate cultures, religions and periods of time throughout history.
Purple is the color of royalty and ceremony, the colour of the highest regard. Purple also symbolises creativity, fantasy and magic.
The third eye chakra , also known as ajna, is represented by the colour purple (deep indigo), located at the top of the head. The chakra is linked to our mental and psychological abilities being our intuition, wisdom, our sixth sense, open mindedness and truth.
Purple (violet/magenta) is the color of the Crown chakra, also known as Sahasrara, located at the top of the head. This chakra is linked to the nervous system, and the brain, and is representative of pure thought, infinite consciousness and spiritual understanding.
Inspiration
I am sure Stella knew exactly how she wanted to arrive into the world and I completely lost myself in her creation, and before I knew it myself, there she was.
About the series (yet to be named): I really like to keep smaller works simple and striking, not overindulged with mixed media and texture. My desire is to make an explosive statement of love, light and guidance with this body of work and bring some of that luxurious, bold, fierce colour and contrast back into my art, which was once a dominant signature of my style.
